My top 5: funny chick flicks

I know the reviews are never great, and they never get a lot of credit, but funny chick flicks have always got me grinning like an idiot! Whether I’m laughing from stupid lines or a funny face – it doesn’t really matter as long as I’m laughing! So here are my top 5 funny chick flicks. If you haven’t seen them already; enjoy!

1. She’s the man (2006)

I remember watching “She’s the man” for the first time and screaming laughing so hard! Amanda Bynes has so many antics that makes me laugh; the way she moves and talks, and especially her facial expressions are gold! Also, who can resist Channing Tatum?

The movie is about Viola who gets the idea of taking her brothers place at school so that she can continue playing soccer when her all girls team gets cut.

Favorite quote: “Oh my god you’re bleeding, are you okay? Ahem, I mean, suck it up, be a man and rub some dirt in it!”

You’ll get it when you see it!

2. Wild Child (2008)

First time I watched wild child was in the cinema. I hadn’t seen much of Emma Roberts but I loved every minute of it. Her character, the music, the clothes and the boarding school drama!

So the movie’s about Poppy, living with her younger sister and wealthy father in LA. One day she makes her last rebellious act and is sent to a boarding school in England.

Favorite quote: “Oh, it’s on like Donkey Kong. Do your worst horse face”

3. Legally blonde (2001)

Legally blonde is a funny and cute movie with a lot of cute outfits and a whole lot of girl power!

Legally blonde is about Elle Woods. Privileged sorority girl living her fabulous life until She’s dumped by her boyfriend Warner. She decided to follow him to law school to get him back.

Favorite quote: “I just don’t think that Brooke could’ve done this. Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husband, they just don’t.”

4. Mean Girls (2004)

I don’t remember the first time I watched this, but I do remember the last. I have watched this SO many times before and I don’t see myself stopping!

When Cady Heron moves from Africa to America to start high school, she ends up being friends with the popular kids; “the plastics”, until she falls for the Regina George’s ex boyfriend Aaron Samuels.

Favorite quote: “It’s like I have ESPN or something. My breasts can always tell when it’s going to rain. Well… they can tell when it’s raining.”

5. Freaky Friday (2003)

So, the fifth and final movie is freaky Friday. Lindsay Lohan has always been one of my favorite actresses and apart from Parent trap this might be where it started.

After a big fight in a Chinese restaurant, mother and daughter find themselves in the wrong body. Each other’s bodies. And with a wedding and an important gig coming up they have to get their bodies back.

Favorite quote: “[looking at her reflection in her mother’s body] I’m old!”

You know when you’re in a really bad mood. You might not know why. And sometimes it’s because something has happened. But you know what? I often find myself in a foul mood after watching something depressing or sad, and nothing gets me in a better mood than watching one of my favorite chick flicks. Definitely because it’s funny, but also because there’s a comfort in watching an old movie you’ve seen a hundred times before!

  2. Great choices! I’ve done a review for Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, and Freaky Friday. I was planning on reviewing She’s the Man at the end of the year. I don’t think I’ve heard of Wild Child though. You can find my reviews in my index in case want to read them: https://mastermixmovies.wordpress.com/a-z-reviews/
