Alright, so, I did not expect that I would like lady bird this much! I was expecting the movie to be very weird and extra strange but it was actually really cute and funny, and very original! I think it was a great representation of a young persons life and the struggles of getting older and making decisions.
I could really relate to some of the feelings about making decisions and knowing whether it was right for me or not, and I think a lot of young women and men can relate in different ways. It also brings up current topics that are relevant in our society today, which I also like.
The movie is about Elisabeth, or Lady bird as she would like people to call her. She has a pretty turbulent relationship with her quirky and strict but loving mother, and is struggling to make decisions about her future, hating California where she currently lives and wanting badly to go to NY. “I want to go where culture is, like New York”.
I laughed, I cried and I really enjoyed watching this in the theater with my sister for her birthday! This is a great coming-of-age story.
